The secret to staying lean FOREVER!

This may not be much of a “secret” to some of you, BUT it does work.

In order to get that lean muscle look to begin with, we know you have to increase your intensity in the gym while maintaining a quality diet. If you’re someone who needs to lose weight, burning extra calories in the gym while being in a caloric deficit will allow you to lose fat while still gaining muscle. If you’re someone who is “skinny” then you’ll have to eat in a slight caloric surplus while keeping up with muscle strength training.

Now once you’ve achieved that lean yet cut/muscular look, how do you maintain it FOREVER.

Although this may sound difficult as our body changes with age and our lives change, it really is quite simple. Once you achieve your ideal look, you have a pretty good idea of what worked to get you there. Therefore, it should be easy to stay there.

It’s one word…

CONSISTENCY!

The hardest part is done. Now it’s simply keeping up with your workouts, listening to your body, and staying disciplined in the kitchen.

Once you find a diet that allows you to continue to build muscle (high protein) and isn’t too high or low in calories in comparison to how much you burn daily, you got it. Stick to this diet day in and day out and I promise you will keep your desired look.

I will probably be eating the same meals until I die. Sounds ridiculous, but monday through friday I’m strict to what works for me and to what I enjoy. Of course there will be some small changes here and there over time, but as long as I am substituting to be healthier or around the same, I’m good.

It’s that simple.

I highly recommend using MYFitnessPal to track your food and see where your macros are at. There’s a good chance you think you’re getting enough protein or you think you’re not eating a lot of calories, but it’s the opposite. You don’t truly know until you start tracking. Once you know, you know and you can stick to those meals until you feel you need to change.

I also recommend tracking how many calories you burn every day on average. You can do this with smart watches or with other fitness technology.

Once you do these 2 things, you should have all the information to control the way you look. You just have to be DISCIPLINED!

You Got This!
