How to Actually ENJOY Working Out

If you absolutely dread going to the gym and working out, then do you think you’ll really stay consistent?

The answer is, probably not.

You’re probably saying, “nobody loves every single workout and skips with pure happiness going into the gym every day” and you’re right. Well, at least nobody I know does that. 

However, I can tell you from first hand experience I enjoy most of my workouts and try to make them fun. Now how in the world is working out “fun”.

  1. Go into the gym with a plan. Having an idea of what workouts you’d like to do that day will keep you on track and get you excited for that day.
  2. Constantly switch up your workouts. Try new things! Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone because you might just find something you really like doing. 
  3. Don’t be so hard on yourself! You’re going to have days where your body feels like shit and you feel weaker than usual. It’s normal.
  4. Have set goals. Working towards something always helps get me excited for my workouts. Knowing I’m trying to accomplish something to better myself definitely helps. (Don’t know how to set goals? See other blog posts at the end of this page!)

You’re not always going to want to go to the gym and not every workout is going to be amazing. At the end of the day, if you can come up with a routine you can stick to and that certain workouts/goals excite you, then you’re way more likely to stay consistent. I’ll be honest, even I hate working out sometimes, I remind myself why I’m doing it and power through anyway. If I can do it, then so can you!
