What you see VS What everyone else sees

Have you ever looked in the mirror and picked yourself apart for no reason? Unfortunately, almost everyone does this at some point or another. It’s near impossible to have 100% confidence all the time. Next time you do this, remember this…

You will ALWAYS be your own worst critic. Whether it be that little pimple you think everyone is going to notice and stare at or it be you gained a few pounds. Odds are, nobody notices. And if they do and are bold enough to say something to you, I hope it’s sincere and comes from a place of contribution.

You are WAY more likely to judge yourself harshly. We all do it from time to time. Think about it this way. How much do you really notice things about other people? Unless it’s a drastic change or it was pointed out to you, there’s a good chance you never even noticed it! Meanwhile they may be panicking about people noticing in their own head. Even if people notice change for the good or bad, they’ll probably forget about it within the hour.

The same thing applies with progress. You look in the mirror every single day. There’s a good chance you won’t see any change. This is why coaches encourage progress pictures. If someone hasn’t seen you in a while they may see the change. Same with pictures. When you look back at that picture from where you started to where you’re at now, that’s when you see change!

Don’t be so hard on yourself. We’re all human and nobody is perfect. Nothing good will come out of shaming yourself and no change happens overnight. As long as you’re working towards being the best version of yourself, that’s all that truly matters. A positive mindset leads to positive actions while a negative mindset leads to negative actions.
