Benefits of Training with a Partner

Have you ever tried training with a partner? Whether it be a friend, personal trainer or just worked in sets with a fellow gym member? Well if you haven’t, then you DEFINITELY should.

Here’s Why?

So if you have worked out with a partner before or do this regularly you may already know the benefits. If you haven’t, let’s go through them…

  1. You not only hold each other accountable to going to the gym, but you also motivate each other. As humans we feed off each other’s energy and we are who we surround ourselves with. So if your workout partner is lazy one day and doesn’t want to go to the gym, you’re there to push them and visa versa.
  2. You will work much faster in the gym (unless you’re talkers). Once one person finishes the other one goes. One of my personal favorite things to do is supersets. This is super effective with partners because you both do a workout and when you both finish, you switch. This way there is very little to no break!
  3. You have a personal cheerleader. Whether it’s a trainer, friend, significant other, there’s always someone there to watch you progress and get better. You’ll see each other transform and grow together.
  4. You’ll naturally be more motivated. Not everyone is a competitor but it’s in our nature to compete with each other. When your partner is giving max effort you’re going to want to do the same thing and more! You don’t want to come off as soft right??

There’s so many benefits to having a “battle buddy” and let’s be honest, going through ANYTHING with another person is always a little bit easier than doing it alone. So find your battle buddy and grow together.
