Morning Vs Night Workouts.. What’s Better?
Does it really matter if you workout in the morning versus the night?
The short answer is, not really. The long answer, kind of.
What do I mean by “kind of”? Well there are more benefits to working out first thing in the morning versus at night.
- You’re your strongest right when you wake up. Although it may not seem like it because you’re groggy and tired, that is when your muscles have been the most rested. You can probably push/pull more weight at 6am versus 6pm because of this.
- Starting your day off by taking care of yourself first before all other responsibilities is great for your mental health. Generally a good morning makes for a good day while a shitty morning makes for a shitty day. Momentum is real!
- Consistency. Being a trainer I’ve found my morning clients are way more consistent than my night ones. They are there at the same time every day like clock work. It makes sense though, right? It’s easy to go right home after work on some days.
So does it really matter when you go to the gym or workout? No. As long as you go and go consistently. However, keep these points in mind for days where you want to PR or you feel like you’ve been slacking. Definitely try both as it’s different for everyone!
