The Importance of having a Routine!

Getting yourself to the gym when you haven’t been in a while is difficult. You’ll make every excuse not to go and if you do finally go, it’s once until whenever you decide the next time is.

Enter the power of a routine…

Having a routine for when you go to the gym is a game changer. If you plan out precisely what days and times you will go for the week, then there is a much more likely chance of you showing up.

Why does this work?

When that time comes up during the week you’ll feel guilty if you decide not to go. You planned it, you have that time slot open specifically for the gym, and you’re just not going to go? You’re going to feel obligated and that’s the point!

Here’s an example I find comical and hope you do too.

I’ve trained well over 200 clients at this point and I see a very common trend. Whenever I end sessions with a client for whatever reason, about 75% of the time I never see that person in the gym after that. Then when I reach out to them and ask them why, I get the “I’ve just been really busy lately” excuse. This one kills me.

In some very rare cases it’s true, but most of the time nothing has changed. They just haven’t built it into their schedule and prioritized it. They will NEVER miss a scheduled session with me yet now that I’m out of their schedule, so is the gym.

Don’t be like this. You may think you don’t have the time, but we all have time for the things we prioritize. Make a set time as if you have a session with me and GO.

You Got This!
