Why you should start using Resistance Bands ASAP!

Resistance bands are one of the most underrated tools when working out. Not only are they extremely versatile, but they are easy to bring on the go and provide a different type of resistance than weights and bodyweight workouts.

Some ways they can be used…

  1. Assistance– If you’re struggling to learn how to do certain movements like pull-ups or dips, you can easily attach a band to a bar and use it to help you complete the movement. You may use a thick band at first giving you a lot of assistance, however over time you’ll use a thinner and thinner band as you get stronger and eventually you won’t need one at all anymore!
  2. Added Resistance– The same way bands can make workouts easier, they can make them harder too. For example, I can wrap the band around my back while doing push ups or I can put the band on both sides of a bar and step on it while deadlifting. In both scenarios, the band makes it more difficult to complete the rep.
  3. Stretching/warm-up– bands are a great way to warm up your muscles and joints as well. They can be used in several stretches or movements that will allow you to prepare certain muscles prior to your workout.
  4. Full on workout– You can use only bands for the entirety of your workout. Once attached to a pole/bar, there’s an infinite amount of workouts that can be done. You can also make each one tailored towards your level by using a thicker or thinner band. If you’re not sure what workout you can do with bands, check out my resistance bands section on my website!
